Week 9- the Misfit "Bop-it"

I wanted to look at some more modern advertisements focused on popular products and how they advertised it. I tried thinking of something lots of kids have. The Nintendo Wii is the first that popped into my head. When looking at Wii ads. I noticed they focus more on showing how the people interact with the system, rather then just the system. The ads looked modern and sleek. Other ads seemed to involve families more then the system. I feel like I know more about what the system is about than what the system really is. It's family, friendly system.

Finally I want to touch upon the craft of my current misfit toy project: after cropping the Bop-It using the polygon lasso tool and the eraser on a soft/low hardness. First was to adjust the brightness/contrast. Under the image tab under adjustments, I used the brightness/contrast option to adjust the levels of the image into a more desirable and clear image. Using the text tool, I created various text that can be seen throughout the image. I used the clone stamp in order delete current words that were on the bop-it box to better match the background. You hold the "Alt" to set the stamp and it clones the image next to it. Kind of like a mirror.

My concept is to make a toy that no person would want to buy for there kid. Making it a misfit toy.

I have achieved (composition) by taking the classic toy "Bop it" and taken it into a more perverse and inappropriate world by making suggestive shaped objects to interact with.
