Week 7- Life's a Bad Game

"Life's a Bad Game" is the final title for my collage project. Below is the a peek at the progress I made throughout developing this collage.

Craft: changing the variation tool, I made the background more red tones to the background. The car layer was cropped out using the magic wand and edges smooth using the eraser tool on a low hardness to smooth the edges. I used the cloud filter to create smoke clouds in the ground. I changed the level of brightness to make parts of the clouds darker than others. Finally, I changed the hue of the individual chess pieces to make them more random ad colorful

Concept: To give the audience a sense of chaos and destruction. The irony is that giant chess pieces are used to fulfill this emotion instead of a giant monster or army.

Composition: The bright and different colors on the chess pieces attract immediate attention. The Smokey clouds in the background add to the sense of chaos from the red background. There are plenty of little details like the smashed car and person to reinforce to the overall concept I was attempting to achieve.

Craft: Using variation, I added more red midtones and highlights, but also the chess pieces. The paint tool was used to brighten the street light's red light. The magic wand and eraser tool was used to smooth out the flames, chess pieces, etc. I transformed and scaled the chess pieces to make the chess pieces look large and intimidating. The man in the background was darkened. The knight was copied, transformed, and painted over to create a shadow that much the direction of the sun in the image

Composition: The color of the chess pieces stand out sightly more than the background. The dark shadows and clouds add to the background and give that eerie bloody feeling. The crushed car and flames are other small details to give the since of the destruction. The people in the image are not very noticeable, but they are either running or killed which adds to the overall concept I was trying to achieve.

Craft: Similar to the above images. This image was changed to have darker green tones. No other methods were used that were not previously mentioned above

Composition: The bright yellow chess pieces stand out the most. The large scaled knight catches attention because of its location. The fires and smoke both pop out more in this image. The background seems more calm and less chaotic compared to the other images.
